Making French Genealogy Easier

The French Department of Aine Archives

The French department of Ain was created in 1790. Prior to that year, pre-revolution France and it’s towns were located in provinces and duchies. They were owned and ruled by the Monarchy & the Nobility. During the French Revolution, the new Republic of France divided the country into numbered departments. Aine is now in the region of ‘Rhône-Alpes, on the eastern side of France.

The online archives of Aine (1) now have digitalized images uploaded of their genealogical records
